Addressing journalists on the sidelines, Archbishop Eunor Guti, who took part in the 2.5km walk, described parents as “custodians of the future” and she urged collective action against drug abuse.

“Future generations can be destroyed by drugs, that is why it is important for us to protect our children and future generations,” she said. “Drug dealers are driven by profit and do not value life. As parents, we must stand together and fight this by protecting our children even though involving in our activities such as this walkathon.”

She further emphasized that the battle against substance abuse must also be anchored in spiritual values, noting that embracing Jesus Christ remains central to overcoming societal challenges.

The walkathon is part of the broader commemorations of Archbishop Ezekiel Guti, who was born on May 5, 1923, and passed on July 5, 2023. As the founder and president of ZAOGA Forward In Faith Ministries International, he dedicated over 75 years to gospel ministry, uplifting communities and promoting a holistic well-being worldwide.
