Zimbabwean Afro-fusion sensation Queen Mashie is poised for a triumphant homecoming as she headlines the highly anticipated Rejuvenation album launch, fittingly themed “Return of the Queen,” set for May 1, 2026, in Harare.
The event will be hosted at Londoners Public House, where fans are expected to gather for an intimate yet electrifying night celebrating one of Zimbabwe’s most globally resonant musical exports.
Now based in France, Queen Mashie has steadily built a reputation as a cultural bridge between Zimbabwe and Europe. Her sound is a refined fusion of traditional Shona rhythms—deeply rooted in mbira-inspired melodies—and contemporary Afro-pop, soul, and French chanson influences. Over the past few years, she has performed on international stages across the Francophone world, carrying what she calls the “Zim-Spirit” to new audiences while evolving her artistry.
Her latest offering, Rejuvenation, recorded between Paris and Harare, is being described as her most personal and sonically mature project to date. The album explores themes of identity, resilience, love, and belonging, with lyrics delivered in a seamless blend of Shona, English, and touches of French. It reflects her journey as a Zimbabwean woman navigating global creative spaces without losing connection to her roots.
The Harare launch marks a significant milestone—not only celebrating the album, but also symbolising her return to the local stage after a successful period abroad.
Adding depth to the night will be an impressive lineup of supporting acts. Renowned songstress Diana Samkange, affectionately known as “Mangwenya,” will grace the stage with her signature powerful vocals and rich traditional influences. Also performing are Pauline and Nicolar alongside their live band, bringing a vibrant, instrumentally rich performance that complements the Afro-fusion theme of the evening.
Organisers have confirmed that tickets are priced at $15 for general entry and $20 for VIP access, with limited space available—making early booking essential for fans eager to witness the spectacle.
With anticipation building, the Rejuvenation launch is shaping up to be more than just a concert. It is a celebration of artistic evolution, cultural identity, and the powerful connection between Zimbabwean roots and the global stage.
