Harare will play host to the inaugural Young Achievers Awards Zimbabwe on Saturday, 15 August 2026, as organisers roll out a new national platform honouring citizens under the age of 35 who are excelling in business, agriculture, technology, education, the arts, sport and community leadership.

The ceremony, scheduled for the Hyatt Regency Hotel Harare,  from six in the evening until eleven, will bring together entrepreneurs, corporate executives, investors, government officials, diplomats and rising talent for what organisers are billing as one of the country’s most significant recognition and networking events of the year. Guests will be treated to a three course dinner as part of the evening’s proceedings.

The awards are an initiative of Ekhaya Skills Centre, a charity registered in the United Kingdom, which has spent more than a decade celebrating Zimbabwean excellence among the diaspora community. Organisers confirmed that the Harare launch marks the first time the awards have been staged inside Zimbabwe, following eleven years of recognizing achievement abroad.

A representative for the awards explained that the decision to bring the ceremony home was driven by the scale of achievement already visible across the country. Young Zimbabweans are creating jobs, solving problems and transforming communities, the organiser noted, adding that such contributions deserve formal national recognition and should serve as encouragement for others to follow a similar path.

Tickets for the event are already on sale, with individual entry priced at fifty five United States dollars, a half table of five guests set at two hundred and sixty dollars, and a corporate table of ten priced at five hundred dollars. Interested members of the public have been directed to secure bookings through the official ticketing portal, with organisers cautioning that seating remains limited.

Winners will be drawn from categories spanning young entrepreneurship, agriculture, technology, innovation, academics, the arts, music, sport and community leadership, alongside a dedicated Rising Star category reserved for achievers under the age of eighteen.

Several businesses have already come on board as inaugural sponsors, including Jan Paul, Eaglemat Insurance, Mudhumeni Mukuru, Ngoto Native Urban Brew Premium Lager and MTM Fleet Maintenance. Organisers said their early backing has helped establish a platform capable of linking young achievers with fresh opportunities while rewarding innovation across sectors.

Additional sponsorship packages remain open, ranging from title and category sponsorship to corporate tables, gift sponsorship, brand activation, exhibition space and media partnerships. Companies taking up these opportunities have been promised national exposure, sustained media coverage and direct engagement with some of Zimbabwe’s most prominent young professionals.

Organisers have also extended an invitation to journalists to attend the gala, interview finalists and winners, and document sponsor contributions as part of broader coverage of the evening.

Speaking on the significance of the event, the awards team said Zimbabwe continues to produce young people who are building enterprises, generating employment and reshaping their communities daily, and stressed that the ceremony offers a rare national stage to honour such role models while drawing further investment toward the country’s youth.

Members of the public wishing to purchase tickets, businesses seeking sponsorship packs and media houses requesting interviews have been asked to contact the organizing team directly ahead of the August date.
