The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has announced the launch of the 2025 IOC Climate Action Awards, in collaboration with Worldwide Olympic Partner Deloitte. The awards aim to celebrate innovative and impactful actions taken by National Olympic Committees, International Sports Federations, and Olympic and Paralympic athletes to tackle climate change.
Accelerating Sustainability in Sports
The IOC Climate Action Awards 2025 invite projects that deliver measurable environmental benefits, such as reducing carbon footprints, recycling sports equipment, and advancing sustainable food initiatives. Winners will receive tailored support to advance their sustainability efforts, including Innovation Labs and mentorship programs.
A Call to Action
IOC Director of Corporate and Sustainable Development, Marie Sallois, said: “The IOC Climate Action Awards return in 2025 — not just to honour bold ideas, but to ignite a movement.” Deloitte’s Global Sustainability Business leader, Jen Steinmann, added: “Deloitte is honoured to once again be the presenting partner of the IOC Climate Action Awards, which recognises leaders using creative and visionary approaches to address environmental challenges in sports.”
Applications are open until June 27, 2025, and winners will be announced during the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026
Building on Success
The 2025 edition builds on the momentum of the IOC Climate Action Awards 2024, which saw 15 finalists selected across three categories. The awards recognize leaders in sustainability and provide a platform for innovation and collaboration in the sports industry.
