Grown & Sexy will celebrate the first anniversary of its R&B Dancehall Lovers entertainment series on Saturday, October 31, with a nostalgic music event at Belgravia Sports Club in Harare, bringing together enthusiasts of classic rhythm and blues and dancehall from the 1990s and early 2000s.

Running under the slogan “Old Is the New Vibe”, the anniversary edition promises an afternoon of music, dancing and socialising. Organisers say the occasion has been expanded around the theme of a bigger stage, a bigger experience and bigger surprises. The programme is scheduled to begin at midday.

R&B Dancehall Lovers was established to give fans a chance to reconnect with music from earlier decades, offering an alternative to the contemporary sounds that dominate much of today’s entertainment scene. The concept has drawn growing attention in Harare, and the organisers have said they intend to take the brand to other parts of the country, with Bulawayo identified as a target for expansion following the reception of its nostalgia-themed events.

The anniversary celebration therefore arrives at a moment when the organisers are working to consolidate the series’ identity and widen its audience. The October 31 programme is expected to appeal to music lovers who value the enduring influence of classic R&B and dancehall, genres that continue to stir memories and connect audiences across generations.

For patrons seeking a more exclusive experience, premium hospitality options have been introduced, including reserved tables, dedicated service and priority access for VIP guests. Tickets are available through online and physical outlets across the capital and at the international airport.

With its first anniversary, R&B Dancehall Lovers is positioning itself as part of Harare’s growing lifestyle entertainment calendar, using nostalgia as its central attraction while building a recognisable brand around music, social connection and premium event experiences.
