The 2026 edition of Ecobank Legends Night delivered a spectacular and emotionally charged experience at the Harare International Conference Centre on April 11, as a sold-out audience of young and old gathered for an unforgettable celebration of Zimbabwean music.
Curated by the ever-consistent In Total Band, the show stood out as a masterfully executed production, with organisers earning praise for putting together a seamless and engaging event. The atmosphere inside the venue was electric from the onset, as patrons filled the auditorium to capacity, reflecting the growing popularity of the Legends Night concept.
The event attracted notable figures including Selmor Mtukudzi and Tendai Manatsa alongside their families, as well as respected businessman and eye specialist Dr Solomon Guramatunhu, all of whom joined the crowd in celebrating timeless classics. Their presence added prestige to an already high-profile evening dedicated to Zimbabwe’s musical heritage. The audience obeyed the assignment and came wearing old school fashion to add to the fun and matched the performers.
Performers travelled from across the country, with Jeys Marabini and Iyasa making the journey from Bulawayo to grace the stage. Their performances added variety and flair, complementing a programme that paid tribute to legendary artistes.
The In Total Band delivered hit after hit from yesteryear, performing songs originally made famous by icons such as Leonard Zhakata, Leonard Dembo and Mai Patai. The audience responded with enthusiasm, singing along and dancing to the nostalgic rhythms that defined generations.

A standout moment came when saxophonist Joze Sax delivered a moving tribute to the late Oliver Mtukudzi, performing some of his timeless hits to an appreciative crowd. The performance drew emotional reactions, highlighting the enduring legacy of the music legend.
Adding a humanitarian touch to the evening, Ecobank Zimbabwe partnered with organisers to honour widows with hampers, while also hosting giveaways for audience members, further enhancing the celebratory mood of the night.

Another highlight saw Mary Anibal captivate the audience with her powerful imitation of Fungisai Zvakavapano-Mashavave, performing the beloved song Tiende Kudenga to thunderous applause and Mbuya Maduve’s song Ndega with Ndomupeishe Chipendo got the crowd screaming and singing.
With the resounding success of the Harare show, excitement is already building for the next edition, which is set to be held in Bulawayo as the organisers take Legends Night to different provinces nationwide, expanding its reach and impact across Zimbabwe.
