The Third Annual Cimas iGo Half Marathon converted the First Capital Bank Sports Club into a thriving hub of fitness, unity, and community health advocacy. Cimas Health Group’s wellness business, iGo, organized the marathon under the theme “Champions of Empathy Inspiring Healthier Communities,” which focused on men’s health, notably prostate and testicular cancer awareness
The 21km race flagged off at 5:30AM, followed by the 10km runners at 5:45AM, and the energetic 5km group at 6:00AM. The diversity of the field was remarkable, with children, seniors, and fitness beginners joining seasoned runners on the course. Their collective enthusiasm highlighted the marathon’s growing influence as a national wellness movement.

Participants began gathering at 5:00 a.m., filling the venue with anticipation. Fitness enthusiasts, professional athletes, business teams, families, and first-time runners mixed as they prepared for the events. Coaches and health professionals also interacted with participants, offering tips on pacing, hydration, and the long-term advantages of physical activity. Organizers stressed that the marathon’s goal is to inspire men to prioritize their health and embrace early detection, screening, and lifestyle modifications.
On-course highlights included lively water stations, wellness tents, and volunteers who provided support and encouragement. Health messages were reiterated throughout the event, with an emphasis on prostate cancer screening and healthy lifestyle choices. Mid-race updates highlighted fierce competition as the top runners surged through the picturesque route.
By mid-morning, the first finishers were crossing the line to loud cheers. Brian Chingwa won the 5km race with an incredible sprint finish. Shortly later, the 21km leaders arrived, with Francis Mifushwa taking first place in the half marathon. Many participants offered emotional remarks at the finish line, expressing satisfaction in promoting men’s health and celebrating their personal fitness successes.

The post-race cool-down included aerobics, stretching sessions, and two vibrant Zumba classes that drew large crowds. A mobile clinic provides free health checkups, allowing participants to receive necessary exams and professional advice. Cimas CEO Vulile Ndlovu, Medco General Manager Yvonne Sibanda, and Dr Nicola Misi inspired participants, with Dr Misi emphasizing that “fitness is vital for health” and encouraging communities to adopt regular wellness habits.
