The African continent is set to make history with the installation of His Eminence, King Ambassador Nkosinathi E. Mahlangu, as Africa President of the International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA). This landmark event, taking place in Botswana’s capital, Gaborone, symbolizes a renewed commitment to unity, peace, and progress across Africa.
Renowned broadcaster and journalist Godfrey Madanhire reflected on the occasion’s profound significance, highlighting its alignment with the aspirations of Pan-African pioneers. “With this installation, we mark the beginning of a journey on a road filled with promises, stretches of peace, and kinship,” he said. To Madanhire, the event transcends ceremony—it embodies a call to action for Africa to embrace collective strength and shared purpose.
Drawing inspiration from Pan-Africanist leader Kwame Nkrumah’s enduring message, Madanhire urged, “Africa must unite or perish.” He emphasized that the installation is a reminder of the continent’s potential to shape a united and prosperous future, invoking the visionary ideals of Africa’s founding fathers.
The ceremony will draw a distinguished gathering of peace advocates, cultural icons, and dignitaries from across the continent. In his remarks, Madanhire captured the event’s spirit: “We gather not as strangers but as kin, united by the promise of a brighter tomorrow.”
Referencing the legacy of Julius Nyerere, the former Tanzanian president and Pan-Africanist, Madanhire acknowledged the profound responsibility King Ambassador Mahlangu carries. “Nyerere’s dream of a cooperative Africa resonates today. In King Ambassador Mahlangu, we see a steward of that vision, a leader for our collective aspirations,” he noted, commending the youthful leader’s dynamic approach.
The anticipation surrounding King Ambassador Mahlangu’s leadership is palpable. Known for his dedication to fostering peace and unity, he is expected to champion initiatives that address the continent’s most pressing challenges. “His Royal Highness embodies the values of dedication and vision. His leadership will illuminate our path toward a peaceful and prosperous Africa,” Madanhire added
