Ambassador Tamer Almassri Issues Grave Warning Over Israeli Evacuation Orders in Gaza

In a strongly worded statement, Ambassador Tamer Almassri has issued an urgent warning regarding the latest evacuation orders announced by the Israeli occupation authorities. The directives, which demand that hundreds of thousands of Palestinian civilians in northern Gaza and Gaza City leave their homes and move toward Khan Younis, represent what the ambassador described as “a grave escalation of forced displacement.”

Ambassador Almassri condemned the orders as part of a wider strategy designed to uproot Palestinian communities and confine them to an increasingly narrow area in southern Gaza. He noted that Khan Younis has already witnessed devastating attacks on makeshift shelters and refugee camps, with repeated strikes resulting in the deaths of innocent civilians, including women and children.

“The pretext of preparing for large-scale military operations cannot conceal the reality,” Almassri declared. “This is a continuation of Israel’s systematic colonial project — aimed at depopulating northern Gaza, consolidating military control, and transforming the south into the largest open-air detention camp in modern history.”

The ambassador drew historical parallels between the current situation in Gaza and other dark chapters of human suffering, citing the ethnic cleansing of the Balkans, the persecution of the Rohingya, and the Nazi ghettos of the 1930s and 40s. He argued that Israel’s tactics — besieging entire populations, restricting access to food and medicine, and targeting civilian infrastructure — mirror fascist methods of domination.

“It is a grotesque irony and moral tragedy,” he said, “that a state which claims to act in the name of Holocaust victims is perpetrating atrocities against another indigenous people with shocking impunity.”

Ambassador Almassri stressed that global silence in the face of such actions cannot be considered neutrality. Rather, he described it as complicity and a betrayal of the principles of international law, justice, and human dignity that were established in the aftermath of World War II.

He urged the international community — governments, human rights bodies, civil society, and people of conscience — to take immediate and concrete measures to halt what he called “the criminal policies of Israel’s far-right regime.” Naming Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu directly, the ambassador accused his leadership of embodying a modern form of fascism rooted in racial supremacy and settler-colonial ideology.

Despite the suffering, Ambassador Almassri affirmed the resilience of the Palestinian people. “We will never abandon our land,” he stated. “Our struggle for freedom, dignity, and national liberation continues — until occupation ends and rights are fully restored.”

He concluded with a stark reminder: “History will not forgive the bystanders. Justice will not be denied.”
