Ambassador Tamer Almassri has issued a forceful condemnation of what he describes as an ongoing genocide committed by the Israeli occupation forces in Gaza, citing recent admissions by Israeli leaders that soldiers are “killing Palestinian children as a hobby.” This chilling statement, he said, lays bare the genocidal intent fueling the continued military campaign against the Palestinian people.
In a strongly worded statement to the international diplomatic community, Ambassador Almassri declared, “These disturbing admissions represent undeniable proof of mass war crimes. The world can no longer feign ignorance to the reality that the apartheid state of Israel is actively perpetrating genocide while much of the global leadership watches in silence.”
Since October 2023, the Israeli military campaign in Gaza has resulted in the deaths of over 53,000 Palestinians—most of them women and children. Civilian infrastructure has been decimated, hospitals bombed, and entire neighborhoods flattened, creating what international aid organizations have described as an “unprecedented humanitarian disaster.”
The ambassador emphasized the scale and urgency of the crisis. “More than 14,000 babies are at imminent risk of death due to a complete blockade of essential humanitarian aid. The deliberate targeting of civilians and systematic denial of food, water, and medical supplies are war crimes under international law,” Almassri said.
Despite international appeals and mounting global outrage, Israel continues its military operations and restricts life-saving assistance to Gaza. The Ambassador underscored the failure of the international community to enforce international law, warning that continued inaction equates to complicity.
“The time for statements has passed,” Almassri urged. “The State of Palestine demands immediate and robust international intervention to halt these atrocities. Accountability is essential, not only for justice but to prevent the further erasure of an entire people.
He concluded by reaffirming Palestine’s commitment to peace, justice, and the protection of innocent lives. “Silence is no longer an option. The world must act decisively to end this genocide and uphold the principles of human dignity and international law.”
